Rocky Riobo

Rocky has studied classical voice for 15 years, completed grade 8 RCM, received a diploma for Jazz Voice from Capilano University and has performed in countless vocal ensembles and musical theatre productions. She has been playing ukulele for 8 years and writing music for the past 5.

She is passionate about performing and creating music and actively engages in a handful of projects, exploring different genres and writing methods. Currently she resides in Vancouver and is asked to perform all over the city.

Rocky’s excitement to spread the love of music fuels her lessons. Teaching voice, ukulele, and songwriting, Rocky’s objective is to instill in her students a sense of drive, exploration, and pride. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s passions and personal goals, marrying the abstract and theoretical sides of music.

...I'd highly recommend Horizon School of Music to anyone who wants to be part of a real music community that cares about your journey and learning.

When I have a lesson with Eli, its more like just jamming with a friend. He allows me to learn what I want to learn, not only what he wants to teach.

My face time lessons are easier than expected and I love that there are different guitar style clinics available so I can learn different genres.

...The co-teaching with Eli on the monthly Metal Consortium has got to be the best metal group class ever to happen. I will close by saying I used to hate Mondays. I have my lessons on Mondays.... it's now my favourite day of the week.
