Music Lessons in Vancouver

Looking for personalized music lessons in Vancouver? Horizon School of Music welcomes seniors, adults, teens, and children as young as four years old from neighbourhoods throughout Vancouver and the surrounding communities to our school at 333 Terminal Avenue.

We offer personalized lessons in piano, guitar, voice, drums, bass, ukulele, banjo, saxophone, songwriting, music production, artist development, and performance training. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, returning to music after years away, or looking to take your skills to another level, we’ll help you build a learning experience around the music you actually want to make.

At Horizon, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to music education. Every new student begins with a complimentary consultation where we learn about your musical interests, goals, experience, personality, learning preferences, and schedule. From there, we carefully match you with a teacher who fits what you’re looking for.

Horizon School of Music is ideally located at 333 Terminal Avenue, making personalized music lessons easily accessible from neighbourhoods throughout Vancouver.

We’re just steps from the False Creek seawall and Science World, close to Main Street–Science World SkyTrain Station, major bus routes, and Pacific Central Station. Students arriving by car have access to convenient parking, while cyclists are welcome to bring their bikes upstairs and store them securely on our second floor while they enjoy their lessons.

Once you’re inside, Horizon feels very different from a traditional music school. Our boutique second-floor studio offers a warm, welcoming environment with sweeping views across False Creek and toward Vancouver’s downtown cityscape. It’s a creative, comfortable place where students of all ages can step away from the pace of everyday life and spend some time making music.

Music Lessons Built Around You

At Horizon School of Music, we believe the relationship between student and teacher is one of the most important parts of a successful music education. We’re extremely passionate about pairing every student with the teacher who best matches their goals, personality, musical interests, and learning style.

That’s why every new student begins with a complimentary consultation. We take the time to understand what you want from music before recommending a teacher or creating a path forward.

Our students explore an enormous range of music, from rock, pop, jazz, blues, classical, folk, country, metal, R&B, funk, singer-songwriter, and contemporary music to songwriting, improvisation, music production, performance, and developing their own original artistic voice.

Some students want to perform on stage or pursue music professionally. Others want to learn their favourite songs, write their first piece of music, reconnect with an instrument they played years ago, or simply enjoy an hour each week devoted to creativity.

We believe life is too short to learn music you don’t love. Rather than forcing every student through the same curriculum, we meet you where you are and build lessons around where you want to go.

Whether you’re four years old and beginning your first musical adventure, a teen developing your own musical identity, an adult finally making time for music, or a senior looking to learn, create, and stay connected through music, we’ll help you find the right teacher and create a learning experience that’s genuinely your own.

Not sure where to begin? Start with a complimentary consultation, and we’ll help you find the right teacher, program, and path forward.
