Jackson Poling is an award winning pianist, composer, and music educator who is passionate about helping students discover their own creative voice. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of British Columbia and has performed in a wide variety of musical settings, from accompanying classical ballet and improvising in jazz ensembles to performing regularly with the Vancouver pop band Orchid Orchestra.

Jackson believes every student has a unique musical perspective worth developing. Through improvisation, composition, and creative exploration, he helps students strengthen their musical ear, express themselves confidently, and build a lasting connection with music. Alongside creativity, students develop strong musical fundamentals and technical skills that support long term growth.

He creates a patient, encouraging environment where young musicians feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate their progress. While classically trained, Jackson enjoys teaching a wide range of styles including video game music, movie soundtracks, pop, rock, jazz, and everything in between. He encourages students to discover new music, explore unfamiliar repertoire, and develop a curiosity that extends well beyond their weekly lessons.

Jackson’s goal is for every student to leave each lesson feeling inspired, more confident, and excited to continue making music on their own.
