Kat is a seasoned vocalist and guitarist with many years of lessons and experience. They are an aspiring Music Therapist that has been involved with music since childhood. Kat has been singing for just over a decade, with experience singing in a variety of styles such as classical, jazz, musical theatre, and solos. She has an in-depth understanding of not only the mechanics and foundations of a strong and healthy voice but also knowledge of style-specific techniques.
Kat has studied guitar in various styles such as pop, folk, as well as some R&B. Kat has experience performing and self-accompanying from their early teens onwards. With this experience, she can provide support to those thinking of taking the next step with trying performances. Kat has experience with all ages and specializes in working with younger children from 3 and up.
Kat has studied voice and guitar at Douglas College for 3 years through the Foundations of Music Therapy Program and is currently finishing the Bachelor of Music Therapy at Capilano University. They have further developed their musical skills during both programs. With a specialization in vocal technique and song adaptations, Kat can pass on a strong foundation for a healthy voice and progressive skills for guitar.
Kat teaches voice from absolute beginners through to those looking to level up their performances, as well as basic guitar, giving a solid foundation for further exploration. As an aspiring Music Therapist, lessons with Kat are not only educational and worthwhile but also look to instill a sense of confidence and growth through musical expression.
