Kenda is a passionate singer, performer and educator. She holds a Masters and Bachelors degree in Opera from the University of British Columbia, and is passionate about all styles of music. She began voice lessons at 10 years old, with aspirations to become a real Disney princess. Her lessons introduced her to a plethora of genres, including musical theatre, jazz, and pop, as well as several instruments, including ukulele, piano and a bit of guitar. Her opera training and experience in many other music spheres have provided her with very diverse knowledge.

Kenda has been working with children and teens for the past 8 years, first discovering her passion for young learners as a summer camp leader for many years. When she first began to learn music, she found the traditional methods of teaching to be boring, and was able to find ways to make her own learning fun. This developed into a dedication to creating a diverse and accessible space for music-making and learning, in order to inspire confidence in each student. Kenda believes that people often learn the most when they don’t even know they are learning, which is why she likes to bring the fun to every lesson!
