Justin Low
Hey there! I’m Justin, and if you’re reading this, you’re likely passionate about music—which is AWESOME! Whether you’re into pop, rock, country, or heavy metal, music has a way of bringing people together and at its core… is just plain fun! As a musician, performer, and educator with years of experience, I am dedicated to inspiring others to reach their full potential and helping them discover the joy and power of music.
Having graduated from Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of Education with minors in Curriculum & Instruction, Counselling & Human Development, Educational Psychology, and Psychology, I am well-equipped with an academic background to support others in their musical journeys. My teaching practice is rooted in various empirically studied pedagogical theories and instructional approaches as well as a personal philosophy that it is most important to find the joy in learning. Practicing your instrument should not feel like a chore, and I know from both research and experience that you learn best when you are enjoying the process and having fun!
My musical influences are eclectic. I can shuffle my playlist and it could be AC/DC, Sabrina Carpenter, Megadeth, or maybe some Disney classics, and I’ll enjoy them all the same. I’ve performed in musical theatre, rehearsed with a thrash metal band, and gone absolutely crazy at the Taylor Swift concert. I believe each music genre and artist has something unique to offer.
By personalizing lessons to align with each student’s unique interests, aspirations, and goals, I am committed to helping others explore their passion for music—regardless of age or skill level.
Let’s get started on your musical journey, and together, we’ll make learning music an exciting and rewarding lifelong experience!
